Whether I’m using the desktop app, mobile app, web app, TV app or Plexamp,
Currently I’m only able to go to Library and select one of the 4 options:
Unfortunately “Artists” is actually the “Album Artists”
I would like to have the option to select the actual “Artists” as well
This because I have a lot of “Various Artists” media, and I’m not able to quickly get all music from the same artist across these albums.
Only way to currently do it is go to Tracks and add the column and then sort/filter.
On Plexamp or mobile apps, this leaves out key information needed and you can’t add columns.
There’s an existing feature suggestion discussing how to show include tracks where an artist is only the track artist on that artist’s page.
Similarly there’s a suggestion to improve the handling of multiple artists (e.g. where two artists contribute to the same song and that song should show on each artist’s page).
I recommend you comment/vote in those threads in order to avoid distracting votes.
Unless I’ve missed some unique aspect of your suggestion, I’ll close this thread as a duplicate.
