Which resolution did you use for your artwork?
Did you use jpg or png or something else as file format?
Is ‘Local Media Assets’ activated under
Settings - Server - Agents - Albums - last.fm
Is the album ‘matched’ to a metadata agent or is it still ‘unmatched’?
You can find out if you take a look at the Plex XML info of a track of that album.
Tip: if you have particularly high quality versions of your cover art (which are just too big to embed them) place them into the album’s folder, named as folder.jpg or cover.jpg

Varying, but one I tried was 240/240

Some JPG, some and PNG…the test one is a PNG

Yes.
Is the album ‘matched’ to a metadata agent or is it still ‘unmatched’?
I get this…not sure what any of this means
guid="local://84369"

I have been using MP3TAG…….Do you have any instructions on how to do this ???
Thanks for all your help !!
Put the cover art as a file beside the music files.
There not much else to it.
guid="local://84369"
This means the album is ‘unmatched’. Which then means, there is really no metadata agent responsible for this item, yet.
And therefore its embedded metadata are not accessible by Plex.
You need to make it ‘matched’ - even if it’s just with the Personal Media agent.
Use ‘match’ on the album,
‘Search Options’
pick ‘Personal Media’ for ‘Agent’
‘Search’
pick the first and only search result by clicking on it.
I assume you have a loose collection of single tracks and not necessarily full ‘albums’, right?
Hello,
I have 2000+ albums I want to load but was testing with just one album.
I don’t have the option to select ‘Personal Media’ for ‘Agent’…I just get Last.FM.
Can Mp3tag put the picture in the folder or do I have to do this manually ?
Thanks
In the ‘Match’ dialog? Your Plex installation might be defective, if its missing an agent.
Perform a ‘repair’ installation
mp3tag supports ‘extracting’ the cover art, yes. It might be possible to ‘script’ this operation, you can perform on all your albums at once. Search the mp3tag forums for details.
But first try the repair installation.
And never, ever try to ‘Run as Administrator’. This makes parts of your Plex data folder inaccessible to a regular user.
Ok, thanks I will try the Mp3tag…my plex is running on a WD Home Cloud NAS.
I do not know how to update this ? (Been googling but no joy as yet)
Sorry, I have no knowledge about NAS devices. You placed this thread under ‘Windows’.
Moving thread to wd section.
Did I…….sorry my apologies. Only just started using Plex and forums
Hello,
Hope someone can help me here…I’ve put the album cover & background image on one album as a test. This is showing fine on my laptop, but when I look at my music on my iPad I still get the grey box with the ‘>’ in the middle.
If I click on the album then it displays the image in the bottom left corner…so why can I not see it in the albums list ?
An help would be much appreciated.
