Hi,
I don’t seem to be getting any artwork come through for .wav/m4a albums.
Each album shows the generic artist cover photo.
I’ve got a few MP3 albums and their embedded artwork shows up fine but not for the hires files.
I’m a premium subscriber and my metadata has ‘Personal Media’ at the top for Personal Media, ‘Plex Premium Music’ at the top for Plex Premium Music and ‘LastFM’ at the top for LastFM within ‘Albums’ in ‘Settings/Agents’
I was seeing similar issues so it might be related to this…
I found that if you edit the library and change the Last.fm to Personal Media I would then see all the covers. I also unchecked the Last.fm in the settings > agents section.
Ah ok, so it’s just not working at the moment - that’s fine if there’s a fix coming.
I generally rip CDs to Apple lossless or wav, both of which can’t have embedded artwork therefore I would have to find the artwork for every single album and drop it into the album folders…this is why I was relying on Plex to add the artwork.
Never mind, hopefully the fix will solve the problem - if not I guess I’ll have to start copy and pasting!
I usually use https://www.mp3tag.de/en/ to embed the tags and artwork into the files themselves (and you can do bulk editing to make it easier). It does take time if you have a large library but once it is done once it is done for good and any app that can read the data can use it (for example, I use both Plex and iTunes).
Yeah, it’s simple if you’re using mp3’s But you can’t embed graphics or any meta data into wav’s so the only option in my case is to save a ‘cover.jpg’ in every folder.
