Music playback on Plex Version 1.18.5.2309

I am running Plex Version 1.18.5.2309 on an iMac and connect via two Apple TVs in two rooms on an internal network. Since Feb 4, when I play Music on either Apple TV the Plex App on the TV quits during the second song. I have tried cutting down on the size of my music library, and have also tried the instructions in
Repair a corrupt Plex database
but neither of these has helped. The hard drive is fine and I can use the Apple Music application to spool the music, but Plex is no longer able to do so. I can watch TV shows on either Apple TV via Plex without problem. As far as I can tell it is due to the server and the problem is restricted to music.
On Feb 6 I tried the following: Under Settings>Troubleshooting
Optimize Database
Clean Bundles
This did not change anything, Plex failed while playing the second song.
On Feb 7 I reduced the size of the music library to 1 album.
Plex failed while playing the second song. The point of failure is not based on the time the music plays. After a 2 minute first song it fails about a minute into the second song, and after a 6 minute first song it also fails about 1 minute into the second song.
Can anyone help? Or am I waiting for another server update?

I updated to the newly released Plex Version 1.18.6.2368. This has not resolved my music playback issue. When I tried playing an album, it died on the second song, and kicked me right out of the Plex app on my Apple TV. I tried on my second Apple TV with the same result. Plex Version 1.18.6.2368 is doing exactly the same thing as Plex Version 1.18.5.2309 did.

Anyone out there have any ideas? I am happy to try anything.

I run PMS (1.18.6.2368) on a Mac as well, and also use an Apple TV 4K. I’m not experiencing the issues with music playback which you describe. How are you starting the playback? Are you just selecting the play option for the album, selecting shuffle, or something else? Do you have another Plex client with which you can test, for example the web client?

I am running on my local network. I have tried regular playback and scramble, neither of which work. Strangely I have been using this for my music playback for over a year, and it has worked perfectly. Then the day after the second to latest Plex release, it stopped working. Nothing had changed. Both my Apple TVs stopped working but only with the music. It actually did work the day of the update, then died the day after.

It is possible that it is a problem related to the Music portion of the database. I add and remove an average of 1000 songs per week. After a few years this may have caused problems.
I did the following from the Repair a corrupt Plex database section but it did not help:

Make sure you quit/exit your Plex Media Server so that it is not running. The following commands are run in the Terminal application. When running the commands, you need to escape any spaces in paths. First, simply switch over to the directory containing the database.

cd ~/Library/Application\ Support/Plex\ Media\ Server/Plug-in\ Support/Databases/

Run a Repair:

Run the following commands in the Terminal in order.

cp com.plexapp.plugins.library.db com.plexapp.plugins.library.db.original

sqlite3 com.plexapp.plugins.library.db “DROP index ‘index_title_sort_naturalsort’”

sqlite3 com.plexapp.plugins.library.db “DELETE from schema_migrations where version=‘20180501000000’”

sqlite3 com.plexapp.plugins.library.db .dump > dump.sql

rm com.plexapp.plugins.library.db

sqlite3 com.plexapp.plugins.library.db < dump.sql

Prior to restarting your Plex Media Server, you should also delete (or backup and move elsewhere) the following two files if they exist alongside the original database:

com.plexapp.plugins.library.db-shm
com.plexapp.plugins.library.db-wal
