Will this ever happen? “Sharing” isn’t exactly good enough. Being able to create lists, download them for backup, or sharing for others to edit/add to their tastes sure would be nice. Not just for Plex, but for Plexamp as well. I realize both use the same lists, but downloading/uploading from either to an individual’s personal account would be very handy.
1 other issue is, playing music lists through Plex and after so many songs, like maybe 4, or usually somewhere around under 10, Plex with stop and I have to reshuffle. All my lists have multiple thousands, and work perfectly on Plexamp. Specifically the app on LG OLED TV’s, is where I notice this. I can use Plexamp on the PC and other devices.
Edit: So, it seems maybe I need an example. Myself and my family members have a good deal of CD’s we all enjoy, and obviously CD’s not all of us enjoy. Most of our playlists are by decade, such as 0 to 1979, 80s, 90s, 80s & 90s, 2000+
What I need is to make a few base, templet lists. Being able to download “the templet lists,” not the music files would be far easier then creating many individualized lists, that contain a lot of the same songs we all enjoy.
None of those links seem to answer what I’m asking for.
Downloading a Playlist in Plex, or PlexAmp downloads all the songs within the list. Not what I am asking for. I’m asking for literally the list, not the songs. The songs are already on the shared server.
WebTools seems to work on the server, but not the client Plex app/program, depending on your device. So, also not what I am needing.
As I mentioned in the OP, sharing doesn’t cut it. It’s not a list that is added to the client’s list to edit how they see fit, it’s in a “shared” folder which I believe doesn’t work in PlexAmp.
My server is accessed by multiple family members. They don’t want the music files locally, and we all want individual lists, but when you have over 1000 CDs, making multiple individual lists is a PITA, when I can make 1 list, or 3 to start from in stead of 6 or 7 different per familymember.
Example is Music Bee. That program let’s you make, import, and export play lists in many different formats. Obviously it doesn’t have a NAS server program such as Plex.
Btw: if it matters, I am a lifetime plexpass member, as well as all the family members that are involved.
