Please allow us to adjust the transcoding settings for music, like we can for video.
I'd like to be able to stream my FLAC library remotely using Plex, but I can't afford to stream a 500mb FLAC album when I only get a few gigabytes per month through my data plan.
This would be great. What I have in mind along these lines would be three presets: home wifi, remote wifi, and mobile, each with adjustable bitrate sliders so you could have full-quality streams at home and more efficient streams on the road. It would also be great if the codec (MP3, AAC, Opus) could be selected. I noticed that the Android client got Opus support about a month ago, that codec seems ideal for transcoding.
This and lack of gapless audio is what keeps me from mainly using Plex for music. I still make local copies of music to my smartphone.
Yes, I’d love to see music transcoding options. OPUS support for sure.
I would really like this option to use on my phone during runs or driving around or wherever i don’t have WiFi.
