I’ve been trying to utilise a ‘ Global Music Videos Folder’ (i.e. configured as the ‘ Local music video path’), but finding track based videos (stored in Album folder) do not show up.
So I gave up and deleted the Global path. But the Artist videos that were linked will not go away. They are still showing as Artists’ Extras, although cannot be played of course as they no longer exist at the original path. THERE IS NO WAY TO GET RID OF THESE.
I followed a suggestion in another thread to set up a new path and place a single video in there and the previous ones should then go away, but after re-scanning and refreshing, I now have one extra video and all the other dead ones still there. So no steps forward but one step back.
Apparently this is a known bug, but that was 5 months ago and quite frankly it’s a pretty ***** big one that needs fairly immediate attention. Much as I love Plex, this sort of lack of support (no way to lodge an actual bug report, or any other way to get direct support) is a big disappointment and will deter potential customers from becoming paid up Plex users.
I would have posted to the original topic that mentioned it as a bug, but the topic has been closed, so I’m starting this new one in the hope of bringing this problem to the attention of the Plex team.
As for this Global music video folder - forget it. Doesn’t work in the first place and then leaves undeleteable crap all over your library when you realise it was all just a waste of time and you have to give up.
