I have a large collection of concert videos that are in an “Other Videos” library. I wanted to experiment with adding them as “Artist Videos” that appear on the Artist page in my Music library, so I set up a Global Music Video Folder as shown here:
I was able to get them to appear under the Artist as Concert videos just fine, but I didn’t like how doing this also removed them from showing up in my “Other Videos” library, so I removed the path pointing to the folder. The problem is now they didn’t disappear from the Artist page. It still shows a video thumbnail, and when I click on it there is a playback error because I deleted the path and removed the file naming structure.
I could set up a separate folder just for Global Music Videos, which will keep my “Other Videos” folder in tact, but it is almost a whole TB already. I did a test with a couple videos set up this way, and after successfully adding them as Global Music Videos, I tried to just delete the file and see if that would remove it, but it did not.
Tldr: Global Music Videos are not deleting from Artist page, after deleting the file, and removing the path pointing to the folder. Help appreciated.
Refresh Metadata should clear them away from the music library.
You may have to refresh the whole library or at least the whole album artist, instead of single albums.
Idea: create another folder some place outside your regular media folders. Then put a single file into it, like a small .txt for example.
Then put this path into the above input field and do the Refresh.
That didn’t work. But if I create another folder like you suggest, and put different videos in them, then the previous videos I was trying to remove do disappear, and the new ones show up. If I then try to remove those new ones, then again they won’t clear out.
I have the same issue. I tried refreshing the artist, scanning the whole library, empty trash. The whole shabang. The artist videos will not dissappear. And as @rig-uh-TOE-nee says, trying to play it just gives an error saying it’s not there.
In the meantime all you can do is to rename or remove the original folder which held all the music videos.
Then create a new folder in its place and add only one small video to it. Preferably attributed to an artist which you rarely visit, so it doesn’t bother you too much.
Then Refresh Metadata of the library.
