I have two children, each with their own Managed User Account. Throughout the last few months and several updates, their accounts will not show the Music Library. There are no content restrictions set for them in Music, only TV and Movies. Has anyone else had this issue?
I have not had this issue, but for my kids I restrict access to specific libraries so I am able to verify that the music library is checked to allow access. You might remove the all libraries checkmark and select each individual library to see if the issue changes. Otherwise, it could have something to do with restrictions, if you have anything configured there. If neither of those help, you’ll probably have to wait for a more experienced forums member to come along good luck!
Can you post a screenshot of the Restrictions
tab ?
I didn’t mean to mark those as answers…
I just installed the latest update, 1.2.5.2966, and they have access to Music again.
Hopefully it sticks, but I’m not terribly hopeful since it has happened several times now.
Do you think the “None” restriction is screwing with it? Perhaps give that a shot and if that does work would probably have to update any shows/movies that don’t have metadata for them for ratings.
They cannot see the Music library, the Movies and TV show up without issue.
Did you ever resolve this issue? I’m having the same problem with managed-users. But, the behavior is more erratic. Depending on the user account selected the music library either (1) doesn’t appear at all; or (2) it only appears on the dashboard. When logged in as the primary user it works fine. This only occurs for managed-users. Also, for a given managed-user account the music will work correctly on iPad but not on an iPhone 6.
I had similar issues. Removed all restrictions and restarted app. Music showed up. Placed restrictions back and they work fine now. Go figure.
