Since yesterday, Plex has renamed a lot of my music files, with incorrect names. For instance I have 46 Venetian Snares albums in a folder named
”Venetian Snares”, and one album in a “Vsnares” folder. Plex has incorrectly renamed them all as Vsnares albums. How can I fix this? I tried rescanning already.
The only thing I can think of that I changed was a couple of days ago updating Plex player on my MacBook which is causing bad stuttering.
Did you enable “Prefer local metadata” in the properties of your music library?

It is enabled yes, and has been as long as I can remember without issues. Should I uncheck it?
No. If you want maximum control over how your music is sorted and presented in Plex, you should leave it activated.
But you must adhere to the rules I detailed in my linked article, or something like this will happen again and again.

Theres no way I can follow all those rules. My music folder for Plex syncs to my Apple Music folder, which is set up for Apple Music
