I don’t know about anyone else, plex server just WIPED my entire music library from within plex and now is re-scanning every album and artist. I have over 500+ artists and had it organized in a very precise way with my folders and artist. This is a complete disaster for me and is going to take me weeks to repair and get back to how I had it.

Do you have your media on an external / network drive and automatic updates for that library enabled?
If Plex attempts an automatic or scheduled/periodic update of your library while the drive is not connected (or doesn’t spin up fast enough), that can result in Plex considering the items gone. If you have set Plex to automatically empty its trash after every scan, this will result in your library being gone.
If that’s the case…
Make sure to disable Settings > [Server Name] > Library > Empty trash automatically after every scan
I’ve been using Plex Media Server for years now, been organizing and building the library the way I want it to look for both movies and music. My media is on a NAS. Nothing on my side has changed, it makes no sense it would do this to my music when everything has been working fine for years…
… until it no longer does.
By fixing your server settings you can prevent this from happening again.
Of course until it doesn’t, that’s usually how most technology goes.

Thanks. I turned that off. Now just waiting for everything to re scan so I can rebuild.
