I’ve been using Plex for a few months now and for the most part it has been a joy to use to digitize my media.
I’ve been running clients on my family’s Android phones, iPads, PS3, Amazon Fire TV, computers, laptops, you name it. I’m using Plex both at home and at work.
The past week or two I’ll find that my media server becomes unavailable sometimes during the day, however this is only in the Firefox/Chrome web client. A quick check on my phone (the Android Plex app) will show that the server is still available. I am trying both secure and insecure connections (the server prefers secure).
I use my home media server to run a range of services from Minecraft to Email and I haven’t had any issues with those temporarily being unavailable, so I suspect there may be an issue with plex.tv identifying Plex servers on the web client.
Is anyone familiar with this issue? I have read the network troubleshooting guide and there’s nothing out of the ordinary there.
