I’d love to see something like the Apple Photos app’s ability to ‘zoom’ in and out of time. I’ve got my photos broken up into years but it takes a long time to scroll through 1000+ photo. If Plex could zoom out to display only a selection of photos from an event or time period, you could more quickly find the set of photos you’re looking for (e.g. a particular holiday) and then zoom back in to see all photos.
I’m not sure if the iOS Plex app is already doing some kind of photo thumbnail caching, but it would be good to be able to have a setting to automatically download all thumbnails for viewing offline. I generally find myself just scrolling through the photos with the thumbnail enough to jog the memories of the event and only open a very few full screen.
Maybe I’m being greedy, but searching by location based on GPS data would be pretty neat too.
Others have already requested reading of Photo metadata for tags, the ability to sort albums on Date Taken and limiting search to photos. All this would go a long way to making Plex the best Photo sharing solution available.
