How do I get multiple user accounts, with individual watched status etc. Am I missing something I have a iPad and HTPC with PHT both signed in with my myPlex details, now my brother bought a Apple TV and created his own myPlex account and signed in, yet still when he watches something it shows up on my devices. I'm using Jason Mehring's multi-user branch.
If anyone is waiting on additional info from me or for a reply, I just wanted to let you all know that over the holiday weekend, I made the decision to quit working on my branch of PlexConnect. I've removed my github fork entirely and closed my pull request.
I've not been able to merge in upstream changes since baa started working on his own myplex implementation. Some important fixes have happened between my last commit and baa's last commit and I just don't have the time to try to figure out how to manually implement what he's got to merge it with what I've got - it's a giant mess and it's going to take time that I don't have to try to manage it. Furthermore, since the code so far indicates that baa is interested in a completely different implementation than what I came up with, two things will keep happening: 1) I'll try to merge upstream, it will break something, and I'll spend more time shoehorning in a solution that nobody wants, 2) I'll have nothing to contribute to the current code base. Both scenarios seem like a giant waste of time which is something I have less and less of lately.
I'd advise to anyone who wants myplex to just be patient. I had never seen python before this project and I managed to semi-implement myplex in under 2 weeks. I'm sure that a novice like baa will have something right around the corner.
Lastly, I want to make it clear that this decision isn't one made to segment the community or create drama. It's not like baa and the other developers solicited any assistance in implementing myplex, so I knew, going in that this was potentially going to be a one-off solution to solve my needs (learning python and watching remote plex content). Other than that, I had very little in terms of expectations of how things would progress as I wrote the code (nor did I understand the scope or scale of the changes needed to get this working) - I accomplished what I set out to do, so I feel pretty successful in that regard and I sincerely wish baa and the other PlexConnect devs much luck and success as they continue to meet their own goals.
I know it's also an internet cliché, but I'm going to be stepping away from the forums for a bit. I'm taking a vacation to somewhere without an internet connection in a week here, so I feel confident that I can live up to that promise. Hopefully this will prevent drama from showing up in what's been an otherwise productive thread.
All the best to the community - your support has been overwhelming throughout this process.

It must be something small I'm missing.
My branch allows multiple users (multiple myplex accounts) to be on one ATV where you are able to switch users easily (so a family of say four can have their own watch status). The main plex server has to have a plexpass account associated with it. the other user account need then to be shared. The other users do not need a plexpass, only myplex account.
The html/javascript code to add/remove users on the ATV is flakely since it was not completed since baa started to go another direction. So after adding / removing a user, simply exit out of settings, and then come back. you can then toggle which user to activate my clicking the Switch user 'button' which will toggle through the users. It takes about 5 seconds for each toggle since it need to discover all the existing PMS boxes, etc each time.
From what it soulds like you are not using the 'fast user' switching this way and only have one user per box (well your brother does). Make sure your PMS server is logged into your PlexPass account and you shared that account with your brother. Then your brother will need to make sure he selects himself as the default user.
Thank you for the reply, so if I understand you correctly the multiple watched statuses is only for on the Apple TV? For example if my brother watches a show for 5 minutes, on my iPad it will still ask me if I want to continue from 5 minutes. It’s not completely independent like it is if we both used the desktop or any official client?

Plex Media server is syncing watched status via all clients, by what i know and experienced. When i am watching from plexbmc, it asks me if resume on the atv, same on ipad and everything ..

That's not what we are talking about, I know how Plex Media Server works. We are talking about myPlex allowing two different people on the same server to have completely independent watched statuses.

Multiple watched status will only work if you have purchased the PlexPass option and login your Plex Media Server in to that. Next you will need to add your brother who does not have a PlexPass, only a normal myplex account to your server share which he will need to accept.
Then on your clients, you login as your PlexPass id; and on his he uses his myplex id. You will now both have separate watch status. You can use my PlexConnect branch on the ATV to accomplish this still.

Again, you need the server to have a PlexPass
That works on any client that supports logging in to myplex. Plexconnect currently does not support that (please read the thread) but its in the works
My PlexConnect branch does support this and that's what he was referring to. The branch is abandoned now until baa finished his implementation.
I have a PlexPass and the server is signed in with my myPlex account, I then logged into the myPlex website and shared my server with his myPlex account, downloaded your multi-user branch, logged into his myPlex account on the Apple TV.
All that does is hide my On Deck shows and movies on the Apple TV but still when he plays something it shows up on my On Deck.
I tested by logging into his myPlex account on my iPad and then watching something, it then worked correctly and did not show up on my Plex Home Theater On Deck.
I did everything I was supposed to right? What am I missing?

It looks like you did everything correct.
Maybe you have 2 users set up on the ATV now. Did you originally add your id? If so, go into settings and you will see that you are the default user for the ATV which would explain the behaviour.
Do this my looking at the 'My Plex: Switch User' line in Settings. Click on it until it shows your brothers ID, not yours (that is how you fast switch between users). It takes about 5 seconds between clicks to update to new user.
EDIT: I'm often on ##plexconnect on irc.freenode.net/8001 irc channel for more interactive help
I started from scratch and redownloaded your branch and signed in using his myPlex account and started to watch something, the same behavior as before happened. I opened the web interface and noticed if I play something from my iPad it shows Soul1990, my myPlex name, started watching, but when I play something from the Apple TV it just says started watching, with no myPlex account name.
