What is the naming format for Marvels Guardians of the Galaxy season 00 episode 1

Origins Star-lord part 1

I have tried the normal but it only shows up as generic episode 1

Plex DocumentationYour MediaNaming & Organizing Your TV Show Files

There are multiple Guardians shows.

Can you provide a link to the listing on thetvdb.com or themoviedb.org?

Also, please show how you currently have the show named and organized - directory listing, etc. Include the full path from the show folder and file extensions if possible.

F:\Kids Tv Shows\Marvels Guardians of the Galaxy\season00\Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy - S00E01 - Origins Star-Lord Part 1.mp4

It’s only the specials that don’t show correct. The other 3 seasons show up fine.

Thank you in advance

Shows up properly for me. I am using TheTVDB as my default episode ordering for the entire library and this show is set to use the default library episode ordering.

Here is how I have my files named:

Looking at the path your provided, there should be a space between “season” and “00”. While it might have worked in the past (and still might work in certain circumstances), that is not how the Plex recommended naming convention shows it and it could cause issues.

Also, you have an MP4 file, so make sure you either do not have local metadata to be preferred and/or that their is not local metadata that could be causing the issue.

Sometimes I forget to check the simple things like if I’m using themd or tvdb. I had it set to tvdb and the list the episode at 19.

Thanks again.

Never end a file name with part n. Or disc n. Or pt n.
Unless you really want Plex to combine several files into one item.
To avoid that, either use roman numerals, or ensure that the number is not the last character of the file name.

That won’t be an issue though, if the episode numbers are different, right? So in a hypothetical situation where this episode (On TVDB as “Origins: Star-Lord (1)”) if it was called S00E19 - Origins Star-Lord Part 1 and the second episode was S00E20 - Origins Star-Lord Part 2, nothing hinky would happen, since Plex would think that those are two different episodes, and wouldn’t combine them.

Not that it matters much, since TVDB seems to avoid this issue by using parenthesis nowadays. But I just want to get a better handle on Plex’s methods to know if in this case it’d be ok.
