Will it be possible to direct play 4K HDR and Atmos video files in NAS storage to 4K OLED LG TV?
I know the NAS can’t transcode 4K but will direct play it to 4K OLED LG TV?
Whether Direct Play happens or not is entirely down to the capabilities of the client. If the LG TV can Direct Play the media format then it “tells” the PMS running on the NAS not to transcode.
I use a LG55v7 and this TV can play all kind of 4K mkv even with Atmos sound directly from my Synology 918…
It doesnt work with the Synology Video Station App but flawless with the LG Plex App…
