Synology NAS -> Apple TV w/ Infusion

Just wondering, I have been looking at the NAS document on the Plex website (https://support.plex.tv/articles/201373803-nas-compatibility-list/) I’ve been wanting to replace my PC with an 8-bay Synology NAS (haven’t settled on a model yet) but what I was wondering is I use an Apple TV 4K with Infuse and everything (so far) has been played using ‘Direct Play’ and not transcoding.

My question is that the page on the Plex website says most NAS systems cannot stream 4K media, but if it is direct playing and not transcoding shouldn’t it be possible to do?

TL:DR If ‘Direct Playing’ should I be able to play 4K media from a Synology NAS to my Apple TV.

Yes, even the weakest NAS can be used for 4K content as long as your device can direct play your media. Performance comes into play when transcoding is necessary.
