Trying to better understand Plex, and I am an extreme novice with regard to computers, so it’s not easy.
Can anyone explain to me like I’m 5 how I am logged in to see the movies I have on my server HD, but not logged in to the area in the upper right? I read in the help that there is being logged in to the app and the server, but how can it see my media if I’m not logged in to the sever?

Plex is 2 parts. The server and the clients. There is no UI when you run the server program, it just runs in the background. You use the Plex Web client to manage it. That’s what you have in your photo. That top right avatar shows what account you are logged into for Plex Web. If your server is logged into the same account or not logged in at all, you can see that by going to the settings (wrench icon at the top right), then going to the General tab under the Settings heading on the left.
If you cannot get to this, that means you signed into your server using a different Plex account. You can then follow this guide, Why am I locked out of Server Settings and how do I get in? | Plex Support, to help you identify what that account is.
To add. Based on your image there are 2 possibilities.
1 - You may have 2 servers associated with your account. 1 that is not logged in, that has the 2 movies you see there, and another that maybe offline, accounting for the inaccessible libraries on the left. This could be from an old server you never removed from your account.
2 - You have 1 server that is logged into another Plex account. The 2 movies you see there are cached information.
Do those movies play if you select them? If yes, then 1 is likely the reason. If they don’t play, then 2 is likely.

I was actually addressing what you happened to notice in my other post that I started a few days back regarding how to transfer a server from a dead/crashed computer to a new one which involved removing the old internal hard drive, recovering PMS metadata etc from it as well as the registry file from the crashed computer and modifying it, transferring it , etc. etc.
I had it working, but I signed out from my server (didn’t realize I shouldn’t do that). I had to reclaim it, (while also removing old/unused servers)… it seems to be up and running well now.
What makes things more complicated (and maybe caused or added to the issue), is that I am posting from my other “empty” account in the forums b/c I had intentions of just deleting my old account with the dead server and starting over with this one…
