First of all, if there is already a thread that addresses this, please direct me there, I looked but could not find any. I do not want to waste anyone’s time.
Admittedly I am somewhat inexperienced in using FreeNAS, and linux in general, but for the life of me I cannot figure out how to update Plex to the latest version and get it to work. The last version I had working was 1.15.1.791. After a disaster of an attempt of an update, I’ve made a new jail with the intent of getting the updated Plex to work. Even going step by step, I cannot get Plex to launch. I start with pkg update/upgrade followed by pkg install plexmediaserver. That works all fine and dandy, but then I need to edit rc.conf to include plexmediaserver_enable=“YES”. Now it shows up in the service dialogue, and I can use plexmediaserver start, but nothing happens, service plexmediaserver status says that Plex is not running. I don’t know where to go from here, none of the guide I’ve found address what to do if that doens’t work. I’d greatly appreciate any help. If you need logs, I’d be happy to provide them, but I’ll need help finding them.
