need help installing plex server after opensuse install

i am running with an opensuse leap 42.2 system.
i already have a plex account and had a plex server.
after installing opensuse, i no longer have a plex server.
now i am unable to install the plex server.
i receive an error:

Error: INVALID:plexmediaserver-1.8.1.4139-c789b3fbb.x86_64 (file-2f358519): Signature verification failed [4-Signatures public key is not available]

V4 RSA/SHA1 Signature, key ID 3adca79d: NOKEY
MD5 digest: OK (fc9388a89d2cc4f6da4947c9b824b5e6)

any suggestions would be helpfull.

thanks

Opensuse isn’t one of Plex’s supported Linux distributions.

If OpenSuse is like Ubuntu, you can import the Plex signing key.

If interest to you is the signing key.

It may help if you mention what you used to install pms on leap.

Unable to reproduce error

rpm -Uvh plexmediaserver-1.8.1.4139-c789b3fbb.x86_64.rpm

Or use:
zypper in plexmediaserver-1.8.1.4139-c789b3fbb.x86_64.rpm

Works for me on 42.3.

The only thing I have issues with is that the restart of the service throws an error during the process.

I’m also running OpenSuSE Leap, I’ve tried both ways shown here and am receiving the following:

Any thoughts, oh wise ones???

Thanks in advance.

  1. The key info is here:

  2. It’s probably best to download and do a local install the first time.
