I am wondering if there is a way i can turn off the initial message about what is playing fro the brief moment before a video starts. This goes for my movies and TV, as well as the plex pre roll. I would rather the content just starts without the box that comes up for a brief second to tell me whats playing.
I’m not sure if you can turn it off, at least if it is what I think, the problems is that the app is buffering, so it can be related with transcoding if you go to settings> Transcoder you can adjust the “Transcoder default throttle buffer” to a smaller size, generally the default size(I think is 60) works well, but you can play with it to your liking, also you can tinker with your quality settings going to settings>Quality and modifying “Video quality” to a lower value.
Also, I found this in a plex article, I don’t use a Windows server, so I can’t say if it works but maybe it can help:
(Windows) Disable “Large Send Offload” (LSO) Driver Setting
By default, Windows makes use of “Large Send Offload”, which is a technique to improve network performance and is nearly always beneficial. In some rare cases, though, it can dramatically (and negatively) affect network speed (and more commonly occurs on Windows 7). You could try disabling this option to see if it helps resolve buffering issues. Be sure to reboot your computer after making the change. Instructions can be found in this HowToSolutions article.
Where it also says this:
Device Limitations
Some apps can have other limitations that may affect playback. For instance, the Plex for Smart TVs and Plex for PlayStation app can experience memory-related constraints. If you try to play content at too high a bit rate, the app can run out of memory available to it, which can result either in crashing or in poor playback, which may manifest as buffering.
In these cases, lowering the video streaming quality in the app to the recommended values may help.
