I am running my plex server on a desktop:
Arch Linux
Ryzen 2700X
32GB DDR4 2100
nVidia GT710
Only other services running: Plex Requests, Tautulli, and a watchdog program
I have my media stored on:
Synology 1515+ w/1 expansion box
Any time I have to transcode 3 or more streams, I get a “not enough CPU for conversion” notification. This occurs even when all files are 720p. As far as I am aware, this has been the case since I switched hardware away from an Intel 6700k, but I’m not certain that it wasn’t a timing coincidence. Has anyone else had similar issues?
EDIT: I’m an idiot. I had a hard limit set at 2 transcodes. Carry on.
