New android player (Android 2025.19.0) Doesn't direct play anything (have to transcode)

Server Version#: Version 1.41.8.9834
Player Version#: Android 2025.19.0

Since downloading the latest version of the app onto my Samsung S22, I have found that I can’t play anything directly. That is, playback only works if the server is transcoding. There is no error message, it’s just as if the video is paused when I am playing anything in original quality (except of course the player is not in a paused state).

If I change the quality to a transcoded version (e.g. different lower bit rate) the playback starts. It then stops if I change back to original quality.

This seems to be the case both when I am remote and on my local network, and I can’t find a single file that plays.

Previously to this, I had reverted to the “legacy” android app because when the new app came out, I tried it and some of my files didn’t play at all, with a variety of errors, like “source error”. So I reverted to the legacy app, in which everything played fine as usual.

But I thought I’d give it another go and tried the latest release, with the above result which is much worse - I can’t get anything to play at all. No errors, just no playback.

Would need both the mobile app logs and the server logs to have a look and/or make bug report.

Are they a variety of video/audio codecs or generally of the same type? Just want to try to see if I can find a file to reproduce.

OK - it’s now working again. I didn’t change anything, so I guess it might be because I had (only) just updated the app on my phone.

I guess you can close this issue. Thanks for responding so quick.
It looks like I am finding it harder to recreate the errors I had before as well, which would be great if that is also fixed.
