There’s multiple issues with the new android version with the recent large update to it:
1: Casting now forces a fullscreen display over the app while it’s trying to connect
2: You can’t turn casting off to resume on device, you must stop playback before you can attempt to disconnect the casting device.
3: Long pressing watch now while casting plays the video on the mobile device and not the connected device.
4: 50hz video now stutters while casting to a chromecast device every second or so
5: Resuming a 50hz video in the mobile player now displays a black screen and only plays audio.
6: Scrolling a 50hz video in the mobile player will show a single frame of the new playback location, and only plays audio going forward.
Also, I have a UK DVB dual tuner service setup and the LiveTV tab essentially disables use of the app whilst loading the guide. This is a significant delay. Also, is there anyway to stop it auto starting / preview of live tv? Otherwise, I like the layout, but the live tv function is unusable. Thanks.
Same here. Version 2025.12.0 installed on my elderly phone (Android 9) and none of the thumbnails will load on the home or library pages, though if I open an item, the background images load while the individual season and episode thumbnails still don’t. Opening the Live TV pages locks the app in the same way @pswindells8 describes (I also have a dual TV tuner, in my case a HDHomerun Connect).
Additionally, when the guide finally opens, you can swipe it up and down but not left or right, nor open any program details. At least, not unless you expect it to react 30 seconds later, performing all of the actions you tried to do in the meantime.
I’m not impressed that these bugs got through QA. The graphical bugs are bad enough, given how the devs were hyping the new look, but the app locking up obviously makes it completely unusable.
I have the 2025.12.0 version on Google TV, which seems really really slow compared to before ( the UI changed drastically from what I had before ).
Now the Home, Libraries , and Live TV are on the upper part, compared to before when they were on the left.
The navigation through the libraries is very slow, and very often causes the app to freeze, and I need to force close it and reopen it.
Live TV does not open any channel, at all.
The image quality is much worse than before , I can see some bands that look like white noise added on top of the image.
Overall the app is very very very slow and nothing seems to work well. This happens almost the same with the Android Phone ( in here I can scroll more or less through the libraries ) but Live TV ( from home DVR device , not Plex TV ) does not open anything no matter how much I wait and let it try doing anything. There is no channel or image that opens.
Hoping in a quick solution ( maybe rolback of this version to the previous one, which worked very well )
I understood from another forum topic, that this new version was not in fact ready for TV’s and was released unintentionally. To go back to the older version which works well, you just need to uninstall the current version, and reinstall( which will bring the old version now).
I tried this, and now all is back în working condition
I have also just noticed that HD channels are unavailable via the android app, still working via old version of the app on Amazon Fire tablet and Fire TV sticks. Is an update planned soon as this version is really poor.
