New App Experience Adjustment

The new mobile app is a terrible power-push for live TV and on demand services. As a 12 year plex member, this demonstrates a major shift away from what plex should really be used for - personal media server. I won’t speak for others, but I just will never care about all this sharing and live/on-demand junk. Is there a way to remove that nonsense from my app home screen? If not, I would highly recommend bringing that option back.

Plex has always been a great option for a feature-rich personal server, but if the current strategy continues as it appears, it will become just another company that most people don’t care to give two thoughts about.

If you don’t mind them being gone from everywhere, you can disable them here: https://app.plex.tv/desktop/#!/settings/online-media-sources Set Movies & Shows, Live TV, and Discover Source to “Disabled” (not Disabled for Managed Users). This will remove the On Demand, Live TV, and Discover tabs from the nav bar. It will also remove all of those services’ related content from the home screen.
