I don’t think, Plex itself ever imported metadata from attached json files – maybe if the metadata was also embedded in your files themselves? Are you by chance using some 3rd party agent / metadata plug-in for that purpose?

Can you run a refresh for an affected title then download your PMS logs and share them? Also, could you share a sample file that is affected so that we can attempt to reproduce? Thanks for reporting.

We would need the entire server log zip file.

Think I tracked this down to where unmatched items are skipping local metadata. Will have the fix in the next beta.

Ah, I wonder if this is why any newly added but ‘unmatched’ albums simply refused to show the album art (even though it’s there in the folder) until it was matched a few days later?

Same issue here with local metadata not being pulled in with the latest beta. In my case the shows are matched, but for some reason aren’t pulling any metadata or using the local assets. Mp4 files and used to work flawlessly, so def a new(er) bug.
