So just testing the new build and The first thing to report is that videos are playing back, but they’re not showing up on plex web as being played on the apple tv. On top of that they aren’t showing up on continue watching either or remembering where I stopped watching. uh-oh!
You’re right. No video activity under status in plex web. Hopefully this can be addressed quickly as the continue watching feature is pretty important.
Edit: because of this issue videos aren’t getting marked as watched.
We’ve found and fixed those issues. A new build is coming with that fix.

Something is definitely wrong on the Apple end. Apps in the App Store aren’t downloading either
For some reason it took me a while too, but I finally managed to download it. Maybe Apple has some servers down for maintenance :-\
