I am seeing a couple of issues with the Plex TVOS app and wanted to report them as bugs for troubleshooting by the Plex team. Let me first detail this one thats been around for a number of builds now.
On any version of TVOS & Plex TVOS app when you place the Plex app on the Apple TV Top Shelf it will of course display what you’ve been watching before. However if you hover over one of those shows/movies while on the Top Shelf view of the Apple TV home screen and press the play button on the remote, it only ever starts the movies from the beginning it never picks up where it left off. To resolve this you have to actually go into the plex app and choose continue watching from within the app. Again, this does not work when trying to continue to watch a program from the Top Shelf of the Apple TV Homescreen when Plex is in the Top Shelf.
Here are the Plex environment versions for your reference:
TVOS - 11.0 (15J5333f)
Plex TVOS App - 1.14 (6281)
Plex Media Server Version - 1.7.6.4058
Hope that helps and please let me know if you need anything else.
I’ll also add there is an issue with the cast pictures on tvOS 11.0 (15J5333f). The cast pictures show up fine on Plex server (Version 1.7.6.4058) however in the latest Apple TV beta app on TestFlight (1.14 (6281), they are skewed, example attached.
On any version of TVOS & Plex TVOS app when you place the Plex app on the Apple TV Top Shelf it will of course display what you’ve been watching before. I can confirm this behaviour. I wouldn’t be surprised to find it linked to the problem I reported with the Discover section of Other Movies libraries not showing progress or resuming playback of things that are already in progress.
The latest beta fixes most of the cosmetic issues that crept in with TvOS 11. Cast pictures are normal, progress bar is back where it should be, and I haven’t noticed any text overlaps. Still need to experiment with resume bug and stuttering at the end of files.

There is also this weird bug where marking a show or movie as “Watched” or “Unwatched” causes the screen to move up and down for no reason.
What was happening at the time you posted this is that upon marking something watched or upon exiting a video, it’d select the items on a row or two below the “mark watched” button, then keep going back there every time you exited a video.
Although that problem has since been fixed, if you miss-swipe or miss-tap and at any point go to those rows of buttons/options that are 1-2 below the row “mark watched” is on, it’ll still go down there every time you end an episode or exit a video. Only way to stop it is to completely close the app and re-enter.
So now it’s triggered initially by my own accident, but the annoying part of it still happens once triggered.
This is only a minor UX issue. But annoying enough I exit the app & re-enter every time it gets to that point.
