Is there a newer iOS Beta build than the current general release of the app?
I’ve not received a BuddyBuild email since 6555 released 28/06/2016 and the general release 4.2 was pushed out on 05/07/2016.
I only hope the lack of new betas is that they are adding new stuff or fixing hard to find bugs like the no syncing of watched status while watching offline. It is a real PITA while traveling, because have to go into PlexWeb to mark things watched on the plane so I can sync new items.
I suspect it may have more to do with holiday season - seen this throughout the forums on other platforms. I am a little confused by your issue though - I have not had problems with that; when my client sync’s remotely it does mark items as watched and download new items although it can be a little slow due to my server’s connectivity :((
I have shows synced by unwatched. When on a flight or not online if I watch a show it gets marked watched on the device (iPad) but when I get on Wifi it does not transfer the watched status so the next unwatched episode can sync over.
A friend that also syncs to my Plex is also having this problem now while traveling. He has to email me what he watched and I log onto his PlexWeb and have to mark watched what he needs so the next items can sync.
Test it, watch something that is synced while in airplane mode, then go back online and see what happens.
Server is latest MacOS version.
I watch sync’d items all the time on my iPad and have not seen that error at all. I watch a sync’d item, get home (or to a WiFi connection) allow the device to connect and sync and all the watched items update and download new versions. It’s how I get through train journeys for work.
The only times I have issues with Watched status is if I leave one player paused and then complete watching that episode on a different device. Then it gets all confused but not really that surprised by the issue!
Maybe its platform dependent. My PMS is on MacOS. shrug What I going to do is a test by syncing from a friends server (also Mac) and see if I get the same results.
I would recommend creating a new thread in this forum area with:
- Clear steps to reproduce
- Server logs from when you reproduced it
- iOS device logs from when you reproduced it
I submitted logs and info directly to Devs via email.

Not good at all, lots of crashing while syncing. I just did a reinstall of the app and still crashed a whole bunch. Turned on to send logs over to Plex in the app.
I’m experiencing crashing when streaming and playing synced music. Do like the visual changes though!
For those people experiencing crashes probably best to start a new thread with the build number in the title and attach a set of app logs.
As this thread has been marked as “answered” it’s unlikely to get much attention.
