New download - I give up

Ive been using sync for years and it did have hiccups but overall i was very happy with the feature.
This “download” feature is a waste of time.
Yesterday i came home from a night shift and opened plex up to sync on my new iphone 13 mini then fell asleep. I sync 20 episodes and had watched only 2 episodes though the night. Sync on and the server now transcodes 20 episodes and redownloads the previously downloaded episodes. When i awoke i checked they had downloaded and it all reported as done (well no more downloads and 20 episodes to watch).
Later last night sat down on grub and went to watch the downloaded programs (no signal where i was) and boom none downloaded, arrggg.
Went outside to grab 5g and it wanted to sync the 20 episodes again!!! - stood there for a while and then noticed download errors where the signal drops and it starts again- i give up.
Ive then switched off the new feature and went back to the old way of syncing. 10 mins later i had 4 episodes downloaded.

This new feature has problems - it does the same on my ipad, iphone, and my one plus 8 pro.
The way it needs to transcode each and every time you sync to one device or 10 devices is a waste of energy and time. The sync never happens if the screen turns off, i know this is an os problem but its funny how it always worked fine on the old sync system…

Not being able to set up sync remotely to my parents ipad is also a problem for us, we dont have the best internet but have always managed, this “new download” feature puts extra strain of the little bandwidth we have (under 12mb up no fibre available here) - before hand i would ask them what they wanted to watch and would put the episode on though the web browser, encoded ready to download when they needed it, now if my connection is used by anyone in the house while download is in process and im on remote or my parents are downloading it always fails and has to start again for that episode or movie.

Please look at this and stop the rollout of this crippled feature - or at least give us the option to use either, people with nas drives or older computers running as servers are going to really suffer, the old way got on with it maybe at a slower in order pace but once it was encoded you could download that file to however many devices you use, this way just batters older hardware and constantly fails remotely - and in my case whilst on the network as well.

thanks
