I had multiple forum threads that I was responding to and got them confused. Nice catch. Let me address this first “show” card.
This is an area that we have been looking to make a change for a while, so this isn’t directly related to the preview experience. Note that I will drop some watch.plex links here for context (using watch.plex so that we can all see the same thing as opposed to a server where we can’t). The problem we are trying to solve for here is that we have metadata for three levels of a tv show:
- the show itself (mad men)
- a season of the show (mad men season 1)
- an episode of a season of the show (mad men S01E01 Smoke Gets In Your Eyes)
Now we have always had this hierarchy available on web, but we haven’t had it available on TV and we wanted to solve for that. The reasons for wanting to show all 3 level include being able to show descriptions for all three levels and also we have specific actions that are available at each level (example: mark show as watched, mark season as watched, mark episode as watched). Without having a page that only shows a season, we lose out on that spot for these.
@Insomnic_1 also caught the other addition, which is the addition of the “Show” at the top left of the Seasons list which was another idea to navigate to one of these different levels.
So this is something we are trying out but I expected the cursor to land on episode 1 when you go to see the data for episodes (meaning you would have to nav left to select the “season” tile) and the season tile is also starting playback of episode one so I need to take this feedback back to the team and confirm my understanding of what is going on here.
