New error for files I've watched for years: invalid 'X-Plex-Device' header value

Player Version#: 2025.15.0 (966828394)

I would assume it has to do with that character at the end of the string, but am I able to fix that?

I get this error for some files but not all. In some cases I can change the transcoder value (eg. from original 10.1mbps to a preset eg. 1080p HD 8mbps) and it works, but this is not guaranteed to always work.

It’s a new challenge that’s started over the last week. It happens on files I’ve had in my library for some time and watched multiple times. It does not happen to all files.

I can play these problematic files via VLC universal plug and play on my PC with no issue.

The header error is unrelated to the transcoder issue.

Best to supply the full server logs.

Thanks.

This appears to be the cause of the Transcoder error:

Make sure the /tmp path is writable and the Plex user has write access to it.
