The new plex app has broken my setup.
Due to app requirement to run a newer version of the server I cannot access plex via the app.
updating the server on my old trunas box is not - simple - so this is a major pain.
I am in the process of upgrading to a new TrueNAS server but the plex app on that while “up to date” keeps loosing its Remote access. One moment its detected as working, then next its not. I have even enabled manual port forwarding on the router.
I have already been frustrated with the newer layout as it seems to think that accessing MY MEDIA [you know the whole point of PLEX] is barely a secondary function and the primary function is now to push advertising streams at me.
Adding multiple apps just to access my media is not an improvement.
Please guys, you are going down the wrong path here.
