I am a very regular user of the download feature. My commute is mainly in zones with bad network reception, so this feature basically saves me :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

The return of the “download season” feature is great, but it’s still missing a few critical elements:

  • automatically download next N episodes
  • a reliable sync mechanism so that the client can remove the watched episodes. At this time, there is a sync feature but even when the episode is watched until the last second, it doesn’t mark it as watched but only sets its cursor at the end of the file

Are these features on the short term roadmap?

Thanks a lot for making Plex, I’ve been enjoying it for so many years! I understand the new release has had a bumpy start but I’m confident in the team!

they have said download x unread is coming but have no timeline. Nothing on the rest of the missing features.

and looks like a new beta version just rolled out and release notes don’t show anything new for downloads.

no problem. the lack of features in downloads is a big deal for me so something I’m keeping a close eye on. I’ve rolled back to old version for now until they get this fixed or break the old version
