Since I replaced my plex server with a new machine it keeps saying the connection is indirect, all the m achines are on dhcp from the router all on the same private network and each machine can see the whole network
I used to have my library setup as
Star Trek\voyager
\DS-9
\Enterprise
and plex found all the itmes now it only find the 1st listed one
Farscape\season 01
Peacekeeper wars\Season 01
merges the peacekeepr wars with epsiode 1 and 2 odf farscape season 01 and cant be split apart
Same if i make the p[eacekeeper wars season 05 of farscape…definately differnet files even different sizes
as for the indirect connection:
Triple-check the router config and the server’s network config; if this is a Windows server, make sure the network is set to be private (not public).
An indirect connection means Plex assumes this is a remote connection (not local) and there’s a problem with the remote access setup.
as for the library problems:
TV Show libraries are rather touchy when it comes to the folder structures. You shouldn’t add extra folder layers (e.g. the extra Star Trek folder).
Also make sure to point your library to the library-level folder – not to individual shows.
Example:
TV Shows <- the folder linked to your tv-show library
Star Trek Voyager
Season 01
...
Star Trek Deep Space Nine
Season 01
...
Star Trek Enterprise
Season 01
...
Farscape
Season 01
...
The Peacekeeper Wars is not considered a standalone show. The Movie Database has it listed as a 2-episode season 5 of the main show Farscape OR an independent movie. Make sure to organize your files accordingly!
Farscape now works as expected, TV shows works without the extra folder iew Star Trek (used ot work with it)
It is still coming uop indirect connection, remote access works and shows green, router config is as it was with the old server hardware that worked, all machines are set to private network all are on dhcp and all connected via a 1gbps netgear hub thatr then connects to the ISP router
