New to Plex and hoping to use it just for music.
Brand new install, all Ok. As soon as I start scanning a folder of (perfectly tagged, should that matter) music, it scans a few albums OK, then just crashes.
The windows service stops and I have to manually start “plex” again, and start a new scan… where it does the same again.
No idea what to looks for, or why - but it’s basically impossible to use as it is.
First: I’d suggest within your settings and library to set all these to never …
… until AFTER your scan, tagging, matching, metadata fetching etc… is complete. If you have too many of these enabled when doing an initial scan plex can crash depending on the size of what its trying to deal with.
Then (assuming it completes for you without a crash) I would enable the ones you want one at a time.
Second: Make sure your files are named exactly as per the plex guidelines. The scanner performs well when its feed what it expects and poorly when not.
If its still crashing after then server logs may help someone from plex debug your specific issue.
