New install no owner on folder and files

New fresh debian bullseye install fully updated
New fresh Plex server install

Went in with file manager to move my existing server to this newly installed server and noticed that folders and files of the new server do not have owner permission on them, only group is assigned to plex.

I know I can just assign the folders and files to plex user but where else do I need to check?

go into the shell and look at the ls -la of Plug-in Support.
see what it reports.

Reading my mind? I did that a few minutes ago and yes “ls -la” shows owner and group as plex:plex.

My older debian 10 upgraded to 11 however does show owner plex in file manager has to why I originally thought something went wrong.

Observation –

  1. Displays fine in the file system at the shell.
  2. Doesn’t display in the GUI

– Conclusion: GUI :bug:
