From what I read I need to install a PlexConnect server and just use the trailer app to access my plex library. My PMS is on another network.
Is it not possible to only use an Apple TV 2 and your PMS on a remote network for this to work? I read that PlexConnect needs to be installed on a different machine and has to be on the local network.. so I need to dedicate a separate machine on my local network to run PlexConnect? Is there a reason I cannot run it from my PMS on a remote network and forward ports.

Since its a aTV2 you can install iOS 5.3 jb it and install PlexConnect directly on your aTV2 and just sign into myplex and use your aTV anywhere post 355:

I think the instructions are a bit outdated. The bolded items don't exist in the PlexConnect zip I downloaded an extracted.
