Hey guys,
My request relates to the creation of a new “Collections” media library, which is either created and displayed generically from all collections of all media libraries across the entire server or where the admin can decide for themselves what should and should not be displayed.
A few years ago, studios and publishers decided that their media should no longer be released exclusively in the form of a movie or a series, but in some cases in more than one form. In the anime or cartoon environment, the solution is to declare a movie as a special or bonus episode of the series, but in the Hollywood environment this is somewhat more difficult, as there is not a series for every movie. In my opinion, the most complex example is the Marvel Cinematic Universe: It is divided into several phases, each phase contains films and series, which play a role in the chronological progression accordingly.
For Excample: I prefere to sort films according to their studio or publisher, but as this is not always the same, there are inconsistencies, because there is no filter for publishers.
Marvel is a collective term for various superheroes such as Ironman, Hulk or Spiderman, but these are not always from the same studio or publisher. Furthermore, not every film or series in this collective term plays a role in the chronological subdivisions. And again, films such as Spiderman have their own universes in which all the films in this series merge into one another.
With this feature, however, almost all constellations of user-defined sorting could be implemented without the type of media library itself being a limiting factor.
I look forward to your comments and feedback on the feature.
Best regards and thank you for the excellent overall media package that already exists today.
Ronny
