Hello! I am thinking of buying the new Mac Mini, just released by Apple.

  • 3.6GHz quad-core 8th-generation Intel Core i3 processor
  • 8GB 2666MHz DDR4 memory

Will this allow me to seemlessly stream 4K content to my Apple TV 4K? Usually only one stream at time, but preferably multiple stream at the same time!

If you use Direct Play you can do even more streams at once, but for transcoding the base model should be able to handle a 4K transcode session, or a couple of 1080P sessions at once

The short answer is yes, according to the passmark recommendations from Plex, the new i3 is more than double what they recommend for transcoding 4k. Personally, I like future-proofing my mac purchases, so I tend to buy as much as I can.
