So was just updated to new mobile app for iOS. Lost all my downloaded files. Which is a minor bummer but not my question. I can download them again easy enough.
The question is: what happened to my OLD downloads? They were taking up a lot of space on my iPhone. Were they deleted? If not, how can I delete them?
If they couldnât be migrated they should be deleted, but could have been migrated to a different user (if you use multiple users on the same device).
I donât know of a way to view actual things in storage on iOS but you can use iPhone Storage in Appleâs Settings: General to see how much the Plex app is using to see if it is more than expected.
Iâm actually quite upset by this. I am on travel. Boarded a 5 hour flight only to find that the app had been updated the previous night and none of my downloads worked. Thatâs five hours of time I would like back.
I also despise the new default Home Screen. I donât want to see what trailers are playing now. AT ALL. And continue watching only shows the current library rather than the next show as well. The settings donât allow you to customize hardly anything. This is very very bad for me as a user. I havenât been this upset about an app in a long time.
It sounds like you are viewing an individual library. You can favorite the libraries you want to contribute to the home screen continue watching and other home screen recommend rows. https://support.plex.tv/articles/manage-favorite-libraries/
Thereâs a HUGE PROBLEM with the downloads section of both the new iOS and Android mobile app rollout. When going through the downloads, trying to find TV series, you canât! You can only view by âmoviesâ and âepisodesâ and not the series itself, so the order is a mess and finding it is a mess. Ontop of that, there is no graphic in that list view, so finding series and episodes is a nightmare, especially when you have a big download collection. Downloads need to be linked to the search box, for one. On my Lenovo Legion Y700 2nd gen. Android 14 gaming tablet, the app also keeps crashing so itâs been a real HEADACHE TO TRAVEL WITH PLEX RECENTLY.
afaik adding TV show grouping is in the plans but I donât know the ETA of it.
Currently you would need to sort by Title to get the episodes of of one show next to each other in list rather than the default sort of when it was downloaded.
Thank you for the answer but, how is sorting by âepisode titleâ going to help anyone navigate? No one refers to an episode title in a casual watch. Also, the lack of graphics in that list makes it even worse.
I only mean to tell you in the current state of the app where the Downloads functions is more simple how to view the list so that episodes of the same show are together in the list. It was not meant as tip on how to navigate, search etc.
As far as I know due to the many number of issues that were often reported with old app it was decided to essentially start from scratch with new app, first making sure that when you hit download something actually downloads.
SEEK ISSUE
Not sure if this is a global issue or just with downloads (since my server is down and Iâm travelling - god help me) but the playback seek doesnât work. 30 sec seek works but thatâs it. Regular time played is there but seeking by timeline and time left doesnât work.
Entirely different download problem. I deleted all of the old ones, and tried to redownload them, but everything is stuck in Queue and nothing is actually moving toward actually downloading. Is there a setting Iâm missing?
I have the same issue now that I am home and on my server. Canât download anything at all. Everything is just stuck in âQueuedâ. Iâm on wifi. I have plenty of space, there is no apparent reason why it wonât download but it wonât.
Similar issue as @west_logan. Queued items get through Transcoding, but then move to âDownload Errorsâ - âUnable to download media from serverâ. Restarted plex server (Version 1.41.6.9685 on Sequoia 15.4.1), no joy. Deleted app entirely, redownloaded (2025.15.0 (1053)), twice, no joy. log-2025-05-02T00_15_53.462Z.zip (8.4 KB)
