New Nighthawk X6 R7900 Router Getting Network Error

HELP. I just bought a new Nighthawk X6 R7900 Netgear router. Seemst to be awesome for wireless connectivity, but am getting a network error when I try to play any movies over my network from my Drobo 5N. Netgear suggested that I manually setup port fowarding for my Drobo. I need to know what settings and HOW to do this. Does ANYONE know how? Any help is appreciated.

Is the error in finding the server at all, or does it find it/list movies fine, and the error is only on playback?

Also, maybe try disabling netgear’s garbage managed QoS stuff. That has always caused me more issues than it was worth on my Nighthawk R7000, so I shut it off (and I doubt it’s much better on the R7900, but I may be wrong?)

Thanks for the quick reply. I’ll turn QoS off. My previous Linksys worked fine with my Plex Server on my Drobo, but have gotten the Network connection error ever since I “upgraded” to the Nighthawk X6 7900. I setup a manual port forwarding for my Drobo to port 32400 and that hasn’t fixed the issue either.

You shouldn’t need to do any port forwarding on the router end, I don’t think (I don’t on mine, but my PMS runs on Linux, not a NAS)

How is your NAS connected, and is all of it’s non-plex functionality working as intended?

If port forwarding through the router is needed,

is the PDF for the user manual. Page 163 is Port Forwarding. This would be for the inbound port 32400 from Plex only, not for local

Thanks all, i’ll give your suggestions a try.
