HELP…
So not sure what changed. Actually alll I did was change network cables
Bit when i turn on the remote access it enables then turns off
So my Setup up is
Optus NBN router (from wall to network) [ Cannot change as need the VOIP
Then Netgear Nighthawk 6000 which use for wireless only - Configured as an AP access point
Nighhawk 8 port gigabyte switch. this has all the wired connections
I have 2 plex servers and both do the same
Turn on remote and it says ok then 10 seconds later turns off
Tried everything i know and still cannot resolve
Desperate to setup so father in law can access as he recently had an acident and now is house bound
Cheers in advance
Please provide pictures of:
- routers port forwarding settings (if you want you can blank out the public ip)
- each PMS remote access page (if you want you can blank out the public ip)
if public ip is blanked out, a confirmation is required that the blanked public ips are the same.
And that the public ip seen in PMS matches the ip you can see on top of this page: http://www.whatsmyip.org/
so i have a really bad NBN provider which is OPTUS
I use VOIP so use there router.
It doe not have port forwarding.
BUT THIS WORKED YESTERDAY…
Any ideas?
Hello I’m having a similar problem gaining remote access to my plex server. I have a Telstra provided stand alone netgear cable modem which is not wireless or a router and plugs directly into my netgear nighthawk x10 R9000 router, which I’m running my plex server on. The plex server is inbuilt into the router so makes port forwarding impossible because the ip that the plex server is on is the routers ip and can’t be forwarded, so I’m stuck!!!
Any advice on how to fix this issue would be greatly appreciated. I’ve tried contacting netgear support but they were useless!
Regards
Dean
Cant port forward and don’t know what else I can try?
This may be a cosmetic issue… can you confirm that it is indeed inaccessible remotely.
I have seen on the new server version where the red “X” is there but I CAN access my server remotely.
@SiscoPlex, thanks for the advise, you were right it was just cosmetic, it works great.
Thanks
