New player - 480i (MPEG2VIDEO) is transcoding + zooming

Server Version#: 1.18.7.2438
Player Version#: kepler-armv7a-amazon-fireExo-7.28.0.15475-1249f863.apk

Using the new player, watching a dvd remux in 480i (MPEG2VIDEO) is causing video to transcode and be stretched and zoomed to fill the screen(not original aspect ratio). Player controls while playing are really low resolution. Display mode says ‘original’ but it looks exactly like ‘zoomed’ when toggling back and forth. The old player transcodes the video but the aspect ratio is fine. I’m pretty sure this video used to direct play before.

Info from tautulli:
PRODUCT = Plex for Android (TV)
PLAYER = AFTMM
QUALITY = Original (11.5 Mbps)
STREAM = Transcode (Throttled)
CONTAINER = Transcode (MKV to MPEGTS)
VIDEO = Transcode (MPEG2VIDEO 480i to H264 480p)
AUDIO = Direct Stream (AC3 5.1)
SUBTITLE = None

what is the original aspect ratio?

Aspect ratio is 1.33 (Old TV Shows)

Update: Installed “kepler-armv7a-amazon-fireExo-7.29.0.15876-e55f5d7f.apk” and the video is now direct playing but it’s still zoomed in (new player). Switched to the old player and it direct plays with correct 4:3 aspect ratio.

I’m assuming this fix from the change log fixed the transcode issue.
“Ensure only Live TV interlaced content is force transcoded on Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K”
