New Player not using HEVC

Player Version#: IOS 6.11.1

I was just wondering
I setup my Profile.xml for my IOS Device to use hevc (hw) and aac as sound in transcoding

If I use the old player (AVPlayer), the app does honor these settings.
If I use the new player (mvp), the app always uses h264 (hw) and opus.

Why is the new Player not honoring the Profile ?
Especially as on a transcode, my sound is usually already aac and does not need a recode.
