New Player - Still transcode on ipad air 2

Hello There Every One First time here hope my post is right like that

So tried the new player on the ipad air 2 on anime , on the pmp it plays as direct play

i Hope one day we can see it direct play on Apple eco system

file type : mkv

VIDEO : 1080p (H.264)

AUDIO : AAC Stereo

SUBTITLES : English (ASS)

i uploaded the xml file i hope it helps

so its weird i dont know if its like that normal

from my user ( admin ) i can direct play , but from the other managed users it only transcode

In theory that file should direct play on iOS too with the new player. Are you sure the new player is enabled? Check Settings -> Advanced

If you’re 100% sure it’s enabled and it doesn’t direct play, please provide logs and sample file.

Oh! I see, I think managed users don’t have access to the feature, let me fix that…

Kill the app, open it again and it should work now!

Strange, on my iPad Air 2 as a manager user I don’t see all the options I see as the main user does. If I try to turn on the experimental player I get promoted to join Plex pass.

That’s an issue that was fixed in the latest beta v5.8 (15736), could you update and try please? Thanks!
