New plex agent: how to block the update of movie posters

After manually changing the movie posters, I realize that the new agent goes back and modifies my choices with new posters from his database. It seems to me that when the poster is an addition of my part, an option allows to block the update, but not in the case where I chose a proposed poster…

This shouldn’t be happening and not something I can get to happen on my end.

Can you tell me exactly the steps you took to get this to happen?

Good news! I may have been wrong. I’ll keep an eye out to spot when this is happening. I’m not doing anything special except scanning the library files

I was able to reproduce the problem. This only concerns posters proposed by default, never when it’s a poster added manually by me. There is a first condition: add new videos to the library. The second condition: for the wrongly modified poster, appearance of a new poster at the beginning of the list in those proposed by default. This one will be selected automatically…Plex Media Server Logs_2021-09-26_23-39-23.zip (6.7 MB)

If I’m understanding correctly you’re saying that if you don’t manually change the poster it is sometimes changing during the refresh?

If so then that is expected behaviour. Posters may change over time too if the one that was originally set no longer exists at the source or if a different one becomes more popular.

What shouldn’t happen is manually selected posters changing.

Okay, I’m starting to understand the principle. My problem is that I have more than 3000 movies. When the default poster suits me, I don’t change it… and it’s this one that will probably change automatically over time. So I have to download an identical poster and select it instead of the default one so that it doesn’t change. In my case, it’s a bit twisted  I would have preferred that the scan only concerns the added movies, not the ones already in the library. In my case, the best is the enemy of the good.
