New Plex App - Windows - Crashes on 2nd monitor

Server Version#: 1.16.5.1488
Player Version#: 1.0.0.792

When launching, or moving, the new Plex app onto a 2nd screen/monitor it crashes the app entirely. Only way I have been able to “fix” it is to uninstall / reinstall.

Going back to the Plex Media Player until these issues I see posted on these forums are more ironed out.

Mine crashes constantly when playing any content

Will you please tell us more about the monitors in use? Primarily I’m interested in their resolution, display scale, and graphics driver.

Primary Monitor is an Acer Predator X34 w 3440x1440 res
Secondary Monitor is a Dell 24" w 2560x1440 res

Nvidia Driver 431.68

100% screen scaling set in the OS

Still broken after updating server and desktop app

Server Version#: 1.16.5.1554
Player Version#: 1.1.0.831

updated NVidia drivers to 436.02 as well.

Still broken after updating to latest desktop app

Server Version#: 1.16.5.1554
Player Version#: 1.2.0.875

I can also confirm the same issue here. I can open Plex fine on my primary monitor as many times. I can drag it to my secondary or tertiary monitor and it will still operate. However, if I close Plex on either of those two secondary monitors, when it attempts to re-open Plex on them, I get a white screen and the app locks up.

Deleting the AppData folder will reset the program and allow it to re-open on the primary monitor again.

Also running Nvidia, however a slightly older driver 430.64.
Screens are:

  • Primary: ASUS 3340x1440
  • Secondary: Benq 27" 1920x1080
  • Tertiary: Dell 20" 1680x1050

Plex:

  • Client: 1.2.0.875-b7362913
  • Server: 1.16.6.1592-b9d49bdb7

Just a heads up that we haven’t forgotten. I’ll be investigating this between 1.4 to 1.6.

Downloaded v1.3.0.910-77ef46d6, I am able to move the window between screens now.

I can also confirm Plex now re-opens on secondary monitors.

Plex team have come through for us again! Thanks guys!
