looking at a new plex cpu that can trasfer /convert any 50 gig movie to any format at 1x speed.
the current cpu /motherboard can only do it at x0.4
does any on have a cpu list?
If you’re going with the bare CPU (e.g. no hardware accelerated transcoding):
Check out the PassMark CPU mark score of the CPUs you’re looking for.
For a 4K transcode (HDR to 1080p w/o HDR-to-SDR transcoding) you’ll need a Passmark score of approx. 17000.

If you want to consider hw-accelerated transcoding with an iGPU: check out an Intel CPU with an iGPU (Kaby Lake or newer)
