New Plex Media Server

Server Version#: 1.19.5.3112
Player Version#: 4.34.3

I am trying to replace the current PMS to a new one. Every time I log into the new server it makes the old server disappear. In authorized devices I can only see the old one. Both servers have different friendly names and are on the same network. How to I get the second server to run at the same time as the 1st?

I can see two servers on your account

One set up in November 2019 on local IP Address 192.168.1.6
and one setup in June 2019 on local IP Address 192.168.1.5

Is the new server one of these ? or another one?
Have you copied across any registry keys from old to new server ? and from which server ?

192.168.1.6 is the current server.
192.168.1.5 was the backup- this is the one I am trying to update and make the primary

Both were created as a clean install when set up

This server is currently unclaimed - not signed in.
Does it show as unclaimed when you try to access it ?

You should see both servers with the “Office” one showing as unclaimed

Could you restart the server and relaunch Plex Media Server and then try to go through the claim sequence and then get some screenshots and server logs zip

Office is not showing it is unclamied, I was signed out of it. I signed into it. Now I can’t access the “Bedroom”

If I access the bedroom server I can see both servers from that PC, but the office PC is not showing the Bedroom PC

Plex Media Server Logs_2020-08-11_06-30-36 Office.zip (1.1 MB) Plex Media Server Logs_2020-08-11_06-32-10 bedroom.zip (2.7 MB)

Thanks - i will look at the logs

What port forwards do you have in the router?
Does your router allow you to have different wan port from lan port in a port forward?

So to recap -

Both “Office” and “Bedroom” servers are visible and accessible by the Plex Desktop app running on the “Bedroom” PC on 192.168.1.6

Only Both “Office” server is visible and accessible by the Plex Desktop app running on the “Office” PC on 192.168.1.5

I would like you to try Plex Web directly in a browser rather than the desktop app - testing out both Chrome and Edge and with full logging enabled in the Plex Web app

So exit the Plex Desktop apps on the various machines

On the Office PC, open Google Chrome and try this url
http://192.168.1.6:32400/web

sign in to Plex Web and enable verbose web app logging by doing:
Settings / Show Advanced / Web / Debug
Select “verbose” logging and save changes

Then refresh the browser url in that same window to http://192.168.1.6:32400/web

See if both servers show up.
Get a screenshot of the outcome and do not crop it - i would like to see the url and windows time

If both servers do not show, then save the web app log:
click on Settings / Show Advanced / Web / Debug
View Log. Select all text and copy to text file and save

Now repeat this test with Microsoft Edge

and let me see the saved web app logs (zipped) and screenshots and again server logs from both servers

For Port Forwards, you would need to have different wan port for each server

With the bedroom server already using 32400 as external port, choose another public port for the office server - eg 32420

In the router setup a port forward
Public Port 32420
forward to local port 32400
and forward it to 192.168.1.5

Then on server settings for Office server, select Remote Access and Show Advanced. Manually Specify port and enter public port 32420

OK, so they are now both working.

What did you change ? And was there a difference between edge and chrome ?

The only thing possible is I turned off remote access to the “Office”. I don’t think that should have matter when everything was on the same network.
